Bernice B. Donald
The Honorable Bernice B. Donald is Vice-President of the American Bar Foundation. On October 20, 2011 she was invested as United States Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. From 1995 to 2011, Judge Donald presided over the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee. Bernice Donald has also served as a Judge in United States Bankruptcy Court, W.D. Tennessee (1988-95), and as Judge in the General Sessions Criminal Court, Memphis (1982-88).
A member of numerous professional associations, Judge Donald is Past- President of the Association for Women Attorneys and the National Association of Women Judges, and is a past member of the National Bankruptcy Conference. She received her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Memphis.
