Special Funds

There are many opportunities for you to make an impact on the law and legal processes by supporting the ABF. To make a donation to one of the following special funds visit our online giving site or call the Fellows Office at 800.292.5065.   • The Liz and Peter Moser Research Fund in Legal Ethics, Professional Responsibility, and Access to Legal Services - The Moser Fund is dedicated to supporting path-breaking, empirical research central to the highest principles of the legal profession.
  • The Wm. Reece Smith, Jr., Research Fund - Designed to have global impact, the Wm. Reece Smith Jr. Research Fund will advance ABF research on professionalism, pro bono legal services, and the role of the legal profession internationally to advance human rights and access to justice. 
  • The Robert O. Hetlage Scholarship Fund - This fund, in memory of past President Robert O. Hetlage, supports the Summer Research Diversity Fellowship Program, the doctorate Fellowship Program, and a Young Scholars Program.
  • Center for Law and Globalization - The University of Illinois College of Law and the American Bar Foundation announce the creation of the Center for Law and Globalization. The Center seeks to understand the legal and normative consequences of globalization through interdisciplinary research.
