Rights on Trial: Employment Civil Rights in the Workplace and in Court

The presentation will provide findings from a forthcoming book from the University of Chicago Press about how the system of employment civil rights litigation operates in the United States.  Based on a large national dataset on federal court filings and in-depth interviews with plaintiffs and defendants and their lawyers, the book offers unique insights into how employment civil rights litigation actually operates, how it is experienced by the parties, and the relationship between discrimination in the workplace and discrimination litigation.
