Melba V. Pearson, Florida Fellow, Former Deputy Director of the ACLU of Florida and President at MVP Law LLC, has edited an ABA-published book entitled Can They Do That? Understanding Prosecutorial Discretion. The book examines how prosecuting decisions are made, and includes insight from prosecutors, judges, public defenders, theorists, and advocates for reform. The book notably features diverse voices and brings nuance to the complex issue of prosecutorial discretion. Ms. Pearson is a candidate for Miami-Dade State Attorney. Read more here.
