Texas Life Fellow Pat Lykos

LEXINGTON, MA - Texas Life Fellow Pat Lykos was sworn in as the first female district attorney for Houston and Harris County, Texas, on January 1. She said she will go after international gangs and "homegrown thugs." She started her career in law enforcement as a Houston police officer and worked her way through the University of Houston and South Texas College of Law. She then opened a private practice as a litigator. In 1980 she was appointed to the newly created bench of County Criminal Court No. 10. For the past decade, she has served as a senior district judge and as a special assignments judge. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and a founding member and Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation. She has been married to attorney William A. Allen for 32 years and is a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Houston.
