Texas Life Fellow Emily A. Parker of Thomas & Knight LLP has been named one of the "Best Personal Lawyers in Dallas 2009" by D Magazine. Pete Riley, the Firm's Managing Partner, congratulated Ms. Parker, calling her a recognized leader in her field and adding, "It is gratifying to know that our peers consider our attorneys as esteemed as we do within the Firm."
D Magazine's "Best Personal Lawyers in Dallas" list is the culmination of an extensive process of peer selection. The editors of D Magazine posted a secured online ballot allowing registered Dallas area attorneys to vote for colleagues who often represent individuals. Attorneys were asked to nominate no more than two attorneys outside their firm and one within their firm in their own practice area. The publication asked voting attorneys to nominate only those people who practice in the voter's specialty, and self-nominations were excluded. A panel of local attorneys reviewed the final list, which includes less that 100 Dallas attorneys.
