John E. Thies, Illinois Fellow, Re-Elected President of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation

John Thies, Illinois Fellow and Past President of both the Illinois State Bar Association and National Caucus of State Bar Associations, has been re-elected President of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, which provides legal services to low income individuals and seniors throughout a 65 county area in Illinois. John is a shareholder in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois law firm Webber & Thies, P.C. and concentrates his practice in the areas of general litigation and business representation. A 1988 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, John received the College’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. John has had a long history of volunteering within the not-for-profit world. His passions for serving the bar and broader community were blended during his year as ISBA president when his wife, Teresa Thies, and he created Lawyers Feeding Illinois which to date has raised approximately 4.6 million meals for low income families across the state.
