Reginald M. Turner Jr., Michigan Leadership Fellow and Fellows Chair, Receives Neal Shine Award

Reginald M. Turner Jr., Michigan Leadership Fellow and 2018-19 ABF Fellows Chair, will receive the Neal Shine Award for Exemplary Regional Leadership, an honor given to standout Michigan leaders with lifelong roles in supporting regional cooperation and progress. The award is part of the annual Shining Light Awards, presented by the Detroit Free Press and the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition.  Mr. Turner was nominated for the award by Gene Gargaro, chairman of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) board. As a board member, Mr. Turner played a major role in a 2012 campaign which saved the DIA from devastating budget cuts, as well as gave free admission to residents in surrounding areas. He will be honored at the Shining Light Regional Cooperation Awards breakfast in Lathrup Village, Michigan on October 10th.
