Andrew S. Boutros, Illinois Fellow, Presented with the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association National Prosecutorial Award

August 14, 2015, Fellows in the news

Congratulations to Illinois Fellow, Andrew S. Boutros, as he recently received the National Prosecutorial Award by the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association!

Boutros, an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois (Chicago), has been selected in 2015 as the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) national prosecutor of the year.  The honor, called the FLEOA National Prosecutorial Award, is presented to the nation’s federal prosecutor who has “secured the conviction of a notorious criminal in the face of formidable obstacles through untiring effort,” and who worked with “federal law enforcement officers to do so.” Mr. Boutros' selection stems from his work on the dark website “Silk Road,” and in particular his successful investigation, prosecution, and conviction of the world’s largest drug trafficker on the site, described at the time as the most sophisticated and extensive criminal marketplace of its kind on the Internet.

FLEOA is the largest nonpartisan, nonprofit professional association, exclusively representing federal law enforcement officers.  FLEOA represents more than 25,000 federal law enforcement officers from over 65 different agencies.
