Submission Questions
Q: Does LSI have a word count or length policy?
A: Yes, LSI prefers manuscripts that are up to 15,000 words in length; however we will accept articles for review that up to 17,500. If your manuscript exceeds 15,000 words, please include a letter explaining the length. The editors reserve the right to ask authors to cut manuscripts down to 15,000, however, if they feel the explanation may not justify the length.
Q: How long does the peer review process typically take?
A: The amount a time a manuscript spends under review depends on many factors including (but not limited to): length of the manuscript, subject matter, time of the year, and referee availability. For an original manuscript this process typically takes anywhere from three to five months. Please note that if the editors recommend revisions for a manuscript, the entire process could take considerably longer.
Q: Does LSI have formatting requirements for submission? If so, what are they?
A: Yes, upon initial submission for your manuscript please make sure 1) that you are uploading a Word document (our system generates a .pdf) 2) that all text in your manuscript (abstract, body text, notes and references) is double spaced Times New Roman, 12 pt. and 3) that the margins are set to 1.5” on all sides.
It is also imperative that title pages are removed from the main document and uploaded separately to allow for blinded peer review. Please also remove any co-authors names as well as your own from document headers and footers. If your manuscript is submitted with a title page or within the headers or footers your manuscript may be returned to your author center for correction before the peer-review process can proceed.
If you have questions about formatting or submission please contact our Editorial Office at gro.nfba@fba-isl.
Q: Will LSI accept manuscripts that are currently under review at another journal or publication?
A: No, LSI only accepts manuscripts that are solely submitted to our journal.
