Johanna Clyborne, Minnesota Fellow, Becomes First Woman Promoted to Two-Star General in Minnesota National Guard

Johanna Clyborne, Minnesota Fellow and founding partner of Brekke, Clyborne & Ribich L.L.C., became the first woman promoted to a two-star general in the Minnesota National Guard in September. Clyborne was promoted during a ceremony Saturday, September 7, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

General Clyborne joined the National Guiard in 1989 as a Technical Drafting Specialist. She previously served in the Missouri, Texas and California National Guard prior to her service in Minnesota.  She served as a deputy intelligence officer in Basra, Iraq, with the 34th Infantry Division from 2009-2010. Clyborne founded and practices at Brekke, Clyborne & Ribich, where her practice areas include family law, criminal defense, and legal issues particular to the United States Armed Forces. She has been recognized as a Minnesota Super Lawyer Rising Star four times and was a 2015 and 2016 honoree of Minnesota's Top Women Lawyers.
