Dania Siddiqi is a rising senior at the University of Chicago majoring in Philosophy and Cinema & Media Studies. She is particularly interested in the intersection between political philosophy and law, and she greatly enjoyed assisting Professor Anthony Casey with bankruptcy and insolvency law research at UChicago Law last summer. She works a part-time job on campus for the Film Studies Center, in which she projects 16mm and 35mm film for class screenings and public events. She is currently undergoing the process of writing her thesis, which is centered around Islamic representation and exploitation in Bollywood films over the past 50 years. Her interest in South Asian representation has led her to re-establish the Pakistani Students Association, and as Co-President, she has worked to create an inclusive environment for Pakistani-identifying students through multiple cultural events. In her free time, she practices Raas, a Gujarati dance, with her dance team, which holds multiple public performances throughout the year. Dania is looking forward to working with the ABF team this summer and applying to law school this upcoming fall, where she hopes to pursue a career in Entertainment Law.
