Gregory M. Bergman is a California Life Patron Fellow and Shareholder at Bergman Dacey Goldsmith in Los Angeles, CA.

What does being a Fellow mean to you?

It’s a special honor. The Fellows I have met are high-quality lawyers and human beings.

Where were you born and raised?

Los Angeles, California.

What type of law do you practice, and how did you become interested in it?

I am a civil trial attorney. My dad was a civil trial attorney. I wanted to follow in his footsteps since I was 5 years old. Our son, Brian, is a civil trial attorney.

If you had decided to not go into law, what would you have done?

History Professor.

We are so looking forward to the upcoming CLE and reception in California featuring Professor Shari Diamond! How did you come up with the idea for this event?

In discussions with Ajay K. Mehrotra, Director of the American Bar Foundation and Kathy Pace, Director of the Fellows.

What do you do when you’re not practicing law?

Watch the grandkids with my wife; spend time with family & friends.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Our firm celebrates its 33th anniversary this year. My wife is a retired deputy district attorney. We met in law school and have been married 41 years. Our younger son, Alex, graduates from medical school this May.
