Barbara Gislason, Minnesota Life Fellow and former Minnesota State Chair, traveled to Kyiv as an extension of a prior trip to Warsaw for the Union Internationale des Avocats. Her trip to Warsaw was for a Board of Governors meeting and this follow up trip was the result of a speech by Joanna Wsoleck of the Krakow Bar Association and Pavlo Lutsyuk, who served as the Vice President of the Rivne Bar Association.
She facilitated a Zoom meeting between President Petro Boyko of the Kyiv Regional Bar Association and Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) President Paul Peterson and Executive Director Cheryl Dalby to facilitate donations. Her most recent travels led her to learn about the need to treat PTSD in the Ukraine and launch a non-profit in Minnesota to aid in humanitarian effort.
