Gary Powell, Ohio Life Fellow and General Counselor at Emery Oleochemicals LLC, launched the “Legally Mindful” app. The app, consisting of meditation exercises written to help attorneys cope with law-practice related issues, is the only meditation app written by a practicing attorney for use by other attorneys. The exercises incorporate a proprietary sound technology “behind” the relaxing meditation music and verbal guidance, while the sound technology is designed to work with brain waves to maintain deeper meditative state more quickly than through traditional meditation approaches. Legally Mindful takes meditation a few steps further than traditional approaches, and includes exercises designed for attorneys to “take” work-related issues into their meditative state.
