Honorable Peter M. Reyes, Minnesota Fellow and Minnesota Court of Appeals judge, was profiled by Mitchell Hamline School of Law News in January for his committment to diversifying the legal profession. Judge Reyes has held various leadership positions throughout his career, and was the recipient of the ABA’s 2019 Spirit of Excellence Award by the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. The piece reflects on the adversity that Judge Reyes has faced, as well as several of his accomplishments, including serving three terms as president of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association, where he founded a judicial endorsements committee to increase Latino representation among judges.
