Judge Sara L. Doyle, Life Fellow, was named as the 2025 recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from Mercer School of Law and the Mercer Law Alumni Association Board of Directors. The award was presented to Judge Doyle on March 8th, at the Mercer Law School Alumni Dinner.

The Meritorious Service Award is presented to an alum of the School of Law who has demonstrated their support of the Alumni Association and the Law School through their contribution of time and gifts. She has served on Mercer University’s board of trustees 2015 to 2020, on the Law School’s board of visitors 2012 to 2015, and is a current member of the Mercer Law Foundation board.

Judge Doyle is currently a presiding judge for the Georgia Court of Appeals and has been there since January of 2009. She served as the Court’s chief judge from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017 and was instrumental in implementing an historic jurisdiction shift of cases from the Supreme Court and the addition of a new fifth division adding three more judges to the Court. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Atlanta Bar Association and the YLD Distinguished Judicial Service Award from the State Bar in 2020.
