Larry Dean Thompson, ABF Life Fellow, Named 2023 Michigan State University Distinguished Alumni

Larry Dean Thompson, ABF Life Fellow, was named a 2023 University Distinguished Alumni Award recipient by Michigan State University. The award will be presented to Mr. Thompson on November 3rd, at the Alumni Grand Awards by MSU President Theresa Woodruff.

The Distinguished Alumni Award seeks to recognize university alumni who have differentiated themselves by obtaining the highest level of professional accomplishment in their field. The awards given at the Alumni Grand Awards are among the highest awards the university bestows on alumni.

Thompson is Of Counsel at Finch McCraine and is also currently the Sibley Professor in Corporate and Business Law. He previously served as the U.S. Deputy Attorney General during the George W. Bush Administration. He also spent time as the General Counsel and EVP of PepsiCo Inc., where his efforts centered on promoting diversity. He’s also won numerous awards, including the William T. Coleman Lifetime Achievement Award by the African American Partners Network, the Edmund Jennings Randolph Award for contributions to the DOJ’s mission, the Outstanding Litigator Award by the Federal Bar Association, and the AT Walden Award by the Gate City Bar Association.
