Laura V. Farber, Patron Fellow, assumed the role of president-elect of the American Bar Association at the close of the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago. She will assume the role of president at the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago in August 2027.
She has been involved with the ABA since 1994, including roles as the immediate past California state delegate to the ABA House of Delegates, a member of the ABA Day Planning Committee, an advisory member of the Council for the ABA Fund for Justice and Education and a California Lawyers Association delegate to the ABA House of Delegates.
Farber served the Fellows of the ABF most recently as the National Fellows Chair from 2024 to 2025 and also served as co-chair of the California fellows from 2004 to 2011. Outside of the ABA and ABF, she served as president of the Tournament of Roses Association, overseeing the Jan.1, 2020, 131st Rose Parade and the 106th Rose Bowl Game and was chair of the Rose Bowl Management Committee, directing and negotiating the Rose Bowl Game’s entry into the College Football Playoff.
