April 22, 2025

The Hennessey Professionalism Award seeks to recognize a lawyer who “has demonstrated such integrity, character, competence, ethics, civility, and mentoring over the course of his or her career as to inspire greater professionalism among lawyers and pride in their profession and who has enhanced the public’s perception of the legal profession.” It is named for Edward F. Hennessey, who served on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for 13 years and is remembered for his professionalism, respect and civility in and out of the courtroom.

Livia is currently a member of Pullman & Comley, in their family law practice, with more than 40 years of experience. She previously served as the president of the CBA and as chair of the family law section. She also served for 13 years as a state bar association delegate to the House of Delegates of the ABA and as past president of the American Counsel Association.
