Peter H. Kang, California Fellow, was announced as an appointment to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Mr. Kang will transition to the judgeship in March of 2023 and will serve in the San Francisco courthouse.
Mr. Kang will join the court from Baker Botts LLP, where he has served as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice group for the past two years. Before that, he was a partner at Sidley Austin. In addition, he has also maintained a pro bono practice, representing pro bono clients in civil rights litigation, immigration/asylum matters, and veterans benefit issues.
In addition to being a Fellow of the ABF, Mr. Kang is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Arbitrators and was appointed as the settlement conference officer for the San Francisco County Superior Court in over 20 cases since 2012.
