Three ABF Fellows Honored with 2022 ABA Spirit of Excellence Awards

December 02, 2021

The American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession has selected five professionals to present with the 2022 ABA Spirit of Excellence Awards. Three of the five honorees are Fellows of the American Bar Foundation:

  • Kay H. Hodge, Patron Fellow, Past National Fellows Chair, Past ABF Board Member
  • Honorable Adrienne Camille Nelson, Life Fellow
  • Honorable Adrienne Camille Nelson, Life Fellow

The Spirit of Excellence Awards recognize experienced legal professionals who have spent their careers making the bar, academy, and bench more hospitable for practitioners with a diverse array of racial identities and backgrounds. Winners have demonstrated an understanding of the role a diverse legal field plays in improving the administration of justice for the broader public, and have taken steps to ensure that a long-term career in law is attainable for all.

The ceremony will take place as a luncheon at the ABA Midyear Meeting on Saturday, February 12, 2022. To see the full list of 2022 Spirit of Excellence Awardees, click (PDF)here.
