William A. Waddell Jr., Life Fellow, was named as the 2025-2026 recipient of the Sidney S. McMath Professionalism Award from the Pulaski County Bar Association. He was presented with the award at the bar association’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner.

The award is named for former Governor Sid McMath and was presented in recognition of Waddell’s professionalism, integrity, ethics, and civility throughout his legal career. He has also received the Arkansas Bar Association’s Outstanding Lawyer Award and the American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico Award.
He is currently Of Counsel with Friday, Eldredge & Clark, where he has been for more than 40 years as a member of the litigation practice group. He has handled complex litigation and regulatory matters for banks, insurance companies, healthcare entities, and other businesses. He will also receive the Arkansas Bar Association’s Golden Gavel Award during this year’s ABA Annual Meeting.
