William D. Wilmoth, Life Fellow, was announced as the 2024 recipient of the Award of Merit from the West Virginia Bar Association. He was presented with the award during the West Virginia Bar Association Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on July 12.
The Award of Merit is given to an individual who embodies a continuing commitment to leadership, service, and who contributes to the work and purpose of the West Virginia Bar Association. Additionally, the recipient must demonstrate a lifetime of achievement and exceptional service to the legal community or the public.
Wilmoth joined Steptoe & Johnson in 1999 after serving as the United States attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia. His practice at Steptoe centers around complex commercial, energy, security, and healthcare cases as well as counseling clients in healthcare compliance audits, healthcare fraud, and white-collar criminal investigations.
