Bonnie Rose Hough, Life Fellow, was the recipient of two awards last September. She was named the 2024 Bernard S. Jefferson Award recipient by the California Judges Association. The award highlights Distinguished Service in Judicial Education.
The Self-Represented Litigation Network also awarded her as A Distinguished Hero in the Access to Justice Movement, “because her work so well integrates the visionary with the practical, thus making a concrete difference for so many lives.” The Self-Represented Litigation Network (SRLN) was formed in 2005 to ensure that the rising number of self-represented litigants can get some form of effective assistance with their civil legal needs.
Bonnie Rose Hough is the Principal Managing Attorney for the Center for Families, Children & the Courts of the Judicial Council of California and oversees its Access to Justice, Self Help, Family Law, Domestic Violence, and Tribal/State programs. Bonnie received the Faye Stender award from California Women Lawyers, the Opening Doors to Justice award from the Public Interest Clearinghouse, as well as the Award of Merit from the Legal Aid Association of California and the California Commission on Access to Justice for her work to increase access to the courts for low-income persons.
