Colonel James M. Durant, ABF Life Fellow, Awarded Senior Executive Professional Lifetime Achievement Award by Senior Executives Association

Colonel James M. Durant, ABF Life Fellow, was named as the 2025 Senior Executive Professional Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by the Senior Executives Association (SEA). The award recognizes career federal executives whose commitment to public service and exemplary achievements in that pursuit demonstrate the very best in service to the United States of America.

Col. Durant will be presented with the award at the 2026 SEA Leadership Summit scheduled for April 7-8, 2026, in the Washington D.C. area. SEA is a professional association that represents Senior Executive Service members and other career federal executives and was founded in 1980. The goal of the organization is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the federal government; to advance the professionalism and advocate the interests of career federal executives; and to enhance public recognition of their contributions.

Col. James Durant is currently the Chief Counsel for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science-Chicago. He previously served in the Air Force for twenty-six years as an Air Force Judge Advocate in the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He is currently a member of the Fellows Research Advisory Committee, which is a small group of Fellows that advise the Executive Director regarding research of the Foundation and lend their professional expertise to ABF Research Faculty.
