Erica Benites Giese, Life Fellow, was appointed to serve on the Latina Commission of the Hispanic National Bar Association. The Latina Commission was originally formed in 2008 to study and remedy barriers to entry and advancement faced by Latina attorneys.

Over the past 15 years, the Commission has introduced the Latina Leadership Academy, Latina Executive Leadership Program, Pearls of Wisdom, and the Primera Abogada Award to offer professional development and leadership training programs that address those barriers.

Giese is currently a partner at Jackson Walker, out of their San Antonio office, where she leads their Investigations & White-Collar Defense practice. In addition to the HNBA, Erica is also actively involved with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the American Bar Association’s Women’s White-Collar Defense Section, and the Federal Bar Association’s San Antonio Chapter.
