Featured Keynote: “Media and Public Attention to Police Use of Lethal Force” with Traci Burch (ABF Research Professor; Associate Professor of Political Science, Northwestern University)

Though it seems like police use of lethal force is at the top of the public agenda, you might be surprised to learn that very few of the people who get killed by the police each year get any attention from the public, and many incidents still do not even make the news. Professor Burch will present data from an ongoing project that explores how often incidents involving lethal force get attention, and what differentiates the cases that get attention from those that do not.
