June 30, 2025

Four Fellows are highlighted the agenda for the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto as leading Expert Sessions. The expert sessions are designed to be group discussions where ABA experts and attendees will examine several topics important to the practice of law.

Anna Mercado Clark, Fellow, will be hosting Technology Issues, where the group will discuss lawyers’ ethical and professional obligations when it comes to technology, how to adapt to new technology, including remote work issues and generative AI and tech issues that clients may be facing.

Darrell Mottley, Patron Fellow and past Chair of the Fellows, will be hosting Effective and Ethical Use of AI in Your Practice, where the session will explore how AI is changing the practice of law and answer burning questions about the many opportunities to enhance your practice with the use of AI and the ethical lines in the sand about AI use.

Gene Vance, Patron Fellow and past ABF Board Member, will host Business Development & Marketing Strategies, where he will introduce strategies, techniques and Best Practices for attracting, building, growing and retaining legal clients in a highly competitive marketplace. The session will also encourage attendees to share their experience and successes in developing business while, at the same time, answering questions prompted by the discussion

Ana Sambold, Fellow, will host Mediation Mistakes to Avoid and Strategies for Success, where the group will cover cover common mistakes attorneys make in mediation—and how to avoid them. Additionally, attendees will gain actionable tools to prepare more strategically, negotiate more effectively, and follow up more productively.
