Hon. Holly J. Fujie, Fellow, and Bridget K. Marsh, Life Fellow, were named as two of the recipients of this year’s Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Awards. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 10 at the Fairmont Royal York Toronto.

The award seeks to recognize these honorees as they carry forward the legacy of Margaret Brent. She was the first woman lawyer in America, one who was involved in 124 court cases over 8 years and won every case.

Judge Holly J. Fujie is currently a judge for the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles. In 2008-2009, she was the first Asian American to serve as President of the State Bar of California and she is currently the Vice President of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s Judicial Council.

Bridget K. Marsh is currently the executive vice president and general counsel for the Loan Syndications and Trading Association, known as LSTA, Inc. In addition to being a Life Fellow of the ABF, she is a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and a member of the Practical Law Finance Advisory Board and the AAA-ICDR Financial Advisory Committee.
