Honorable Justice Steven H. David, Indiana Fellow, was awarded the Indiana Bar Foundation Legend Award. The ceremony took place on June 24th, 2022 and this is the first year that the award is bestowed.

The award exists to honor the extensive legal accomplishments and quality character of the recipient. Among his many accomplishments, Justice David has been an Indiana Bar Foundation supporter and member of the Board of Directors.

Following his graduation from law school, Justice David served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps on active duty until 1986 and reserve duty until 2010, where he retired with the rank of Colonel. When he started his civilian legal career, he focused on personal injury, family law, and civil litigation. He was elected Circuit Court Judge in 1999, and he took the oath of office as Indiana’s 106th Supreme Court Justice in October 2010 after being appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels. He plans to retire in the fall of 2022.
