Meade W. Mitchell, Life Fellow, has been selected to serve as the 2025–2026 Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). He recently assumed the Chair-Elect role and will serve as the 2026–2027 Chair of the Section, which includes more than 10,000 members worldwide.

A partner at Butler Snow LLP, Mitchell brings over 30 years of litigation experience to his leadership in TIPS. He previously served as Practice Group Leader for the firm’s Products, Catastrophic & Industrial Litigation group and focuses his practice on product liability, pharmaceutical, toxic tort, environmental, and transportation litigation.
He is also a former president of The Mississippi Bar, the Capital Area Bar Association, and Jackson Young Lawyers, and has chaired numerous Mississippi Bar committees. Mitchell is also a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.
