Michael E. Flowers, Ohio State Chair and Life Fellow, Honored with the Ohio Bar Medal

July 02, 2025

Michael E. Flowers, Life Fellow, was named as the 2025 recipient of the Ohio Bar Medal. The Ohio Bar Medal is the Ohio State Bar Association’s highest honor and seeks to recognize those who have given unselfishly of their time and talent by taking prominent leadership roles on the bench and in the organized bar, and to those who have worked quietly to earn the admiration and respect of the community.

The award was presented to Flowers at the Ohio Bar Annual meeting in May, at the Ohio Statehouse. He has served the Ohio Bar community in many ways, such as serving on the Board of Governors for the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Foundation and also served as the chair of the Ohio Minority Development Financing Advisory Board.

Flowers is currently an attorney with the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson, where he also serves as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the firm. Nationally, he previously served as the chair of the Section of Business Law for the ABA and was also on the ABA’s Board of Governors.
