Michael Mullin, Fellow, Receives Richard Sheppard Arnold Award from the Eighth Circuit Bar Association

October 16, 2025

Michael Mullin, Fellow, has been honored with the Richard Sheppard Arnold Award by the Eighth Circuit Bar Association. The award, presented annually at the Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference, recognizes one recipient from each federal district who demonstrates professional excellence, leadership in the legal community, dedication to pro bono service, peer recognition, and mentorship of younger lawyers.

As a partner at Kutak Rock LLP and a nationally recognized mediator, Mullin has mediated more than 4,900 disputes. He is the only Nebraska mediator inducted as a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators and one of just two Nebraska mediators named Fellows of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. He is also a Diplomate of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and serves on the AAA Midwest Master Mediation Panel.

A past president of the Omaha Bar Association, Mullin served on the Nebraska State Bar Association House of Delegates for more than a decade. His dedication to advancing mediation earned him the Nebraska State Bar Foundation’s Legal Pioneer Award in 2022 and the Omaha Bar Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
