The Northeastern Roundtable was held at Yale Law School on April 8-9, 2017.

As a part of this roundtable, three white papers were presented:

  1. Latinas/os in the Northeast: A Historical Overview, written by Professor Carmen Whalen. This paper focuses on the history of the Latinx population in the Northeast.
  2. Latinos in the Northeastern United States: Trends and Patterns, written by Douglas Massey and Amelie Constant. This paper provides a statistical snapshot of how the Latino population in the Northeast is faring with respect to immigration, education access, economic participation, and political mobilization.
  3. The State of Latino Communities in the Northeast: Influence Beyond Their Numbers, written by Juan Cartagena. This paper covers the unique Latinx contributions to bilingual government systems, criminal justice reforms, and victories in political representation that represent the influence the population has had on the region.
