October 24, 2025

Professor Tiffany Williams Brewer, Fellow and associate professor of law at Howard University School of Law, has been named chair of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section for the 2025-26 term. The ABA Litigation Section, with more than 30,000 members, provides resources and connections to help litigators, counselors, and legal leaders uphold the highest ideals of the profession while promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and the rule of law.

As chair, Brewer will guide these efforts with a focus on advancing public confidence in the judiciary, exploring the evolving role of artificial intelligence in the legal field, and fostering mental health and wellness among legal professionals.

At Howard University, Brewer teaches “Evidence, Professional Responsibility, Legislation and Regulation,” drawing on more than 20 years of experience in law, policy, and public service. She has also served as a civil litigator, assistant U.S. attorney, deputy chief counsel to the New Jersey governor, and chair of the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation; she is also an elected member of the American Law Institute, pastor, and founder of The Esther Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and girls through public policy and civic engagement.
