Yonelle Moore Lee, Fellow, was named as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record and was also named one of the Southern Maryland Women to Watch by the Southern Maryland News. Both are second time honors for Ms. Moore Lee, as she was previously named in the 2023 edition of Maryland’s Top 100 Women and the 2024 edition of Southern Maryland Women to Watch.
Maryland’s Top 100 Women recognizes high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service and mentoring. Winners are selected by past Top 100 Women and business leaders. Southern Maryland Women to Watch spotlights the work, dedication, talents and community service of women in Southern Maryland who continue to lead in their respective fields.
She currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Education of Charles County, where she oversees the superintendent of Charles County Public Schools, a district with 40 schools, approximately 29,000 students and nearly 4,000 employees. Her professional career spans legal roles at multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration. She also serves as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s GP, Solo and Small Firm Division’s Women’s Initiative Network and Ethics Committees. She is an active member of the National Bar Association, where she serves as Region IV Treasurer.
