FARMINGTON HILLS, MI - Julie I. Fershtman was named a "2008 Michigan Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics Magazine in the category of Civil Litigation Defense. Only 5% of Michigan lawyers are listed in this publication each year.

Fershtman is Secretary of the State Bar of Michigan and immediate past Secretary of the Oakland County Bar Association. She is also a Trustee of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and a Vice Chair of a committee of the American Bar Association's Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Section. She has tried cases in 3 states and is the author of 2 books and more that 185 published articles. Her third book, which she co-authored and co-edited, is scheduled for publication by the ABA in late 2008.

Fershtman focuses her law practice in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance law, and equine law. She is currently Of Counsel to the law firm of Zausmer, Kaufman, August, Caldwell & Tayler, P.C. A member of the Michigan Bar since 1986, she received her undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University.
