Featured Keynote: “Incarceration of Fathers, State Investment in Families, and Educational Success of Children” with John Hagan (ABF Research Professor; John D. MacArthur Professor of Sociology and Law, Northwestern University School of Law)
The U.S. leads the world in per capita incarceration and about half of adults imprisoned are parents. There is great variation in state investment in families and school programs. This presentation tracks children of incarcerated parents from adolescence to adulthood and shows major impacts of variation in state and school investments for post-secondary educational success.
