James Heckman Addresses White House Summit on Early Education

On December 10, 2014, ABF Research Professor James Heckman participated in a White House summit on the importance of early childhood education for later success in school and adulthood. Heckman's presented research that identifies the immense benefits of early childhood education, such as for every $1 spent on education in early childhood, there is a 7-10% return on investment. He also highlighted that social-emotional skills and character development are just as important as IQ for a child to succeed in adulthood.
